We have been a very busy class over the last term and a half and have so much to report on. We have exciting topics that we have learned like 'Healthy Us', 'Dr Seuss-Oh the Places You Can Go', 2012 Olympics, and a mini unit 'Weather' which we are currently doing.
We have studied fractions, statistics and numeracy in maths. Mrs Waldron, our principal also gave us all a trial on Maths buddy which many of us got certificates for achieving excellent results. We learnt alot about maths and working on a computer based learning programme. Thank you too, to Mary-Lee who guided us when we were rostered on to the school computers. MATHS IS FUN!!!
Some of us - the Purple Pandas are working on SRA independent programme in reading. Soon we are reading plays---they are soooo much fun!
THE RAIN
Room Three could tell you all about the weather we have been having - as it means we often miss being outside for play, lunch and sport. We have had, which was exciting two visitors to the sport field during all the wet weather. A pair of ducks - we look forward to seeing them with their ducklings in the spring.
CROSS COUNTRY
We have just had our school cross country. It was a beautiful sunny Friday (luckily our principal looked at the long range forecast) It was a hard race, twice around our school and church. The hill up behind St Peter Chanel Church seems very steep when you are running. We were proud of where we all got. The Year Fours are looking forward to the opportunity next year, to try to qualify for the Greater Green Island Cross Country and the Otagos.
TRAVELLERS
Two of our children Phoebe and Jack C are very lucky children and at present are doing all their learning overseas - what a life experience! Phoebe is in England with her mum for a month and Jack C is in America and Mexico for two weeks with his family. We cannot wait for them both to return with all their exciting adventures to tell. An added bonus for a very lucky Room Three class mascot 'Geronimo' is that he has gone to England with Phoebe. We cannot wait to read his travel diary.
WELCOME
Finally, we have two new children in Room Three. Saxon who came to us from Brockville School and Ethan who returned to SPC after two terms on a farm in Southland. Welcome to you both, its great having you in Room Three!
